Objective

This candidate was invited to a 60-minute follow-up interview to assess their technical capabilities in more detail. During this interview, we assessed their critical-thinking skills, technical expertise, and overall conversational skills.

Technical abilities

• Technical SEO proficiency [8/10]: Ankita demonstrated strong technical capabilities by systematically identifying key optimisation areas and highlighting critical issues, including poor mobile LCP performance and duplicate hreflang tags for a single URL. She also showed sound judgement by prioritising on-page efforts, followed by off-page and technical fixes, aligning her decisions with expected impact. Her structured, practical approach translates into actionable SEO strategies.


• Content optimisation skills [8/10]: Ankita exhibited sharp content strategy expertise, combining detailed analysis with well-rounded competitor research. She dissected Kiehl’s competitor, CeraVe’s, category page strategy, noting their effective internal linking to blogs and recommended a data-driven approach to enhance Kiehl’s content structuring by planning keyword placement across core pages, informational boxes, and supporting blog content, with a clear focus on internal linking and discoverability. 


• Link building and outreach [8/10]: She showed a refined understanding of high-authority link building, using a quality-over-quantity approach. Her strategic thinking, distinguishing between scaling opportunities and targeted optimisation, reveals mature link-building expertise. She also demonstrated caution against borderline-spammy sources, balancing domain authority with manual review.
